les3002 0 Posted December 29, 2007 swapping the drums on my gti atm and have come to remove the backplates but the 4 bolts that hold them on are well rusty so before attacking them could someone confirm what type they are torx or allen? cheers
Pugnut 9 1 Cars Posted December 29, 2007 they are allen , but they are usually so rusty that hammering in an oversized torx works better.
welshpug 1,657 Posted December 29, 2007 I've seen both, well on a 306 that is.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted December 29, 2007 I've only seen Allen on the radius arms (205, 309 & ZX) that I've stripped. Like Pugnut says, they are usually so rusty that I've got an old 7/16 bi-hex socket i hammer over the head to get them out now rather than bother rounding the off. Graham.
