ORB 227 1 Cars Posted December 26, 2007 nope, they will be ok. just remember a set of cheap 45's can easily end up costing more than a new set.

Baz 421 Posted December 27, 2007 Not too big no, but there's just no benefit in having them over 40's etc really.Remember they'll still servicing/jetting/chokes etc etc, and setting up.

MrG 3 Posted December 31, 2007 why was that? Was it due to unforseen wear? so is there any benefits of 45's over 40's? If so what are they?

osama 0 Posted January 3, 2008 make sure you set them up properly/get them set up properly, else you will have the same problem as my friend...his 1.9 with twin webers is slower than my 1.9 standard!
taffycrook 2 Posted January 5, 2008 There is a thread on here somewhere of some back to back tests I did with 40's and 45's on the same engine. Many folk say 40's are big enough for a std 1.9 up to fast road. Then you need 45's. I think and my tests proved this, at least on the tests I did that 45's are better suited to the 1.9 motor from std up to quite a high state of tune. 48's would only be required for full race motors in the region of 100 bhp per litre. I am about to test some more 205's in different states of tune and as always will report my findings. (good or bad)
