Mi16 Crank Pulley

Has anyone replaced an original XU9J4 crank pulley to solid one?

Does it have any negative effect on engine wear?

Many times, no problems yet. TU engines don't even have dampers.

Less rotational mass, it's a newly made part. Not seen them for Mi's yet though.

does it matter if the engine's turbocharged? :)

many XUD's use solid steel pullies.

seen quite a few alloy ones for the GFTi6 engine and IIRC Miles has had some made up for the S16/2.0 Mi16

Also can have them made under driven, which reduces drag from the altnator and also if the rev's have gone up reduces the wear on the alternator.

I've had one made that's just over 15% reduced drive

I've not done very much to TU engines but one job I have done was replacing a harmonic damper that had split and stopped turning the alternator on a fairly early Saxo VTS with a TU5J4 or whatever they are called (1.6 16v).
