danpug 1 Posted December 23, 2007 It looks like the turbo (XU10 turbo/manifold) i was going to use on my project engine may be duff. Instead i'm going to purchase a TT manifold but need to find a suitable turbo. Engine is going to be a 1.8 bottom end, 405 sri head running off a DTA. I'm clueless with turbos so any suggestions will be great. Thanks.

T2 type ,25 or 28,if you go for a 28 you'll have to swap the servo for a diesel or Xs type for clearance as its damn tight,Is possible though and we'll be fitting a T28 with tt manifold to one in the new year and running it on emerald . whizzer71 0 Posted December 23, 2007 T25's are fitted on many applications be carefull which one you get as some of the Ford ones have the wastegate built into the exhaust elbow,The T28 we have obtained was an upgrade for a Nissan 200sx,although some of them have them fitted as standard,I dont know anything about Nissans so couldnt tell you exactly what model to go for ,and again they all have variations from model to model,Ie size of compressor housing, exhaust housing and at which angle the wastegate actuator is mounted,Its a bit of a mine field really !. Do a search on here theres loads of pics and threads from where people have done conversions previously

danpug 1 Posted December 23, 2007 Thanks. On second thoughts the turbo in the link dosen't state what name it is so i assume its probably cheap and nasty!
whizzer71 0 Posted December 23, 2007 220183671316 ,that'll be ideal !
danpug 1 Posted December 23, 2007 For sure? The thing that concerns me is that its not a garrett.
tom_m 0 Posted December 23, 2007 (edited) an a/r 48 compressor t25/gt25 would be ideal. it will take a lot of work to get an a/r 60 compressor to fit right and would probably be larger than ideal for a 1.8. look for the t25 from the c18det, that would be suited to your engine size and fit easily Edited December 23, 2007 by tom_m

danpug 1 Posted December 24, 2007 (edited) Link isn't working, this is one i was looking at earlier but surely for that price they must be poor quality? Anybody have any experiences (real not assumptions) of these? Are they fragile? Edited December 24, 2007 by danpug
