Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted December 18, 2007 Machine some alloy plugs that fit snugly into the injector bosses, have someone TIG weld them in place.
allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted December 18, 2007 cheers tom, just a cap or a similar shape to the injector ie deep?

Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted December 18, 2007 Probably best to make it so as it can be TIG'ed from both sides, so as deep as reqd to reach through.

calvinhorse 870 Posted December 18, 2007 lol i was thinking something like that but was worried about the pressure blowing them out when it backfires!
Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted December 18, 2007 I'd be more worried about the chav's nicking your injector blockers to spend on white lightning!

Dream Weaver 2 Posted December 18, 2007 When I did this for my bike bodies I just drilled and tapped the injector holes, then used some screw in brass blanking plugs and some PTFE tape to ensure a seal - has worked fine since.
Sandy 191 Posted December 18, 2007 Welding them in is a bit extreme, the heat can cause problems. Epoxy glue is as effective if it's clean and It's not mega difficult to knock them back out if you need to later. Likewise, threading it rules out using injectors in the head at a later date. I've used ex carb heads/manifolds on injection engines several times and so had to "undo" the plugging.
