Phil205 1 1 Cars Posted December 18, 2007 Hi, I have a Peugeot 205 GTI – 1.6 / UK – E reg – 1988 / Engine Type - XU5JA. Can someone please (check the Haynes manual and) advise the technical information that would be needed by a garage in order to do the tracking. When I tried before, the garage didn't have the information for a Peugeot 205 GTI and couldn't track the car. Thankyou.

swordfish210 20 Posted December 18, 2007 any particular reason for the neutral toe?
dch1950 37 1 Cars Posted December 18, 2007 any particular reason for the neutral toe? Hi, FWD wheels tend to toe-in naturally when driven.Remember that supermarket trolly!! regards Dave

Phil205 1 1 Cars Posted December 18, 2007 Spec is 10' to 30' toe in, but I set mine parallel. What page and section do I need to look at ? I might be able to see an electronic copy of the manual from :- http://www.peugeot205club.com/manualy.html or could someone scan the relevant page from the manual ? Many thanks. sutol 0 Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) Has anyone noticed if toe out makes lift off oversteer worse, because I imagine that is why Peugeot set it up with toe in. Only guessing but makes sense to me Course....I may be completely wrong as I don't know what the rear toe is....if any Edited December 18, 2007 by sutol
oli-pug 6 2 Cars Posted December 18, 2007 Wouldn't have thought front toe angle makes much difference to what the rear end does. IIRC standard rear toe setting is 35' toe-in...
Rippthrough 98 Posted December 18, 2007 non-PAS setting is 1mm of toe out anyway.
sutol 0 Posted December 18, 2007 Wouldn't have thought front toe angle makes much difference to what the rear end does. IIRC standard rear toe setting is 35' toe-in... AHAAAA. That is to stop the back end stepping out. When the weight of the car is all on one side when cornering right then the back end will try and steer right to promote understeer ( safe mode ) If the back end was toed out for instance then turn in would be fantastic but the car would oversteer a lot and in the wrong hands would keep spinning round on roudabouts for instance. Be interesting to know what was best,, Does that playstation racing game have a 205 that you can adjust and try out ??
