sutol 0 Posted December 16, 2007 (edited) Saw some nice bucket seats in JTF on Friday reduced to 59.99 a pair. They look good with the usual slots for full harness and they feel solid, not like the usual cheap rubbish Has any one tried these as I'm very tempted at the price P.S. I think they were over 100 quid to start with in fact I seem to recall a price of 60 quid each but I may be wrong. They were too dear for me to consider a couple of months ago though. deejay391 0 Posted December 16, 2007 Get what you pay for really, I've got some OMP HA706N Seats and they are lush no problem in doing 12 hours round trips in, whereas something like a Fisher price of the bucket seat world, Monaco I can just about bare a 10min trip to the shop. Price was the HA706 is about £250 +vat each and the Monaco is about £70....know what i'd do...save up
sutol 0 Posted December 16, 2007 Price was the HA706 is about £250 +vat each and the Monaco is about £70....know what i'd do...save up I would think twice about paying that much for a whole car even if it had bucket seats They would be for track days and the squab feels as if it is half decent and not filled with squashy foam like cheap ones. Think I'll buy some anyway and see what they are like, can always stick em on fleabay and turn a profit if I dont like em
Jrod 7 Posted December 16, 2007 See I find monacos really nice, It's all to do with your build I think.
sutol 0 Posted December 16, 2007 See I find monacos really nice, It's all to do with your build I think. I find that it is sometimes just down to taste and what you are comforable with. I've been in some very expensive seats in my time and find some of them to be very uncomfortable.....safe, but not comfy. Some are selling because of the name so I think I will try the 'cheap' (inexpensive) ones and report back at a later date.
damien 22 1 Cars Posted December 17, 2007 no no no to the cheap seats, i had some in my gti6 pic - it was like sitting on some plywood, the back support would bend if you put any pressure on it and there was next to no padding.
SamGTi 0 Posted December 17, 2007 Just sew a Sparco badge into the backrest and nobody would know any difference!
Dan Ingram 1 Posted December 17, 2007 Defiantely get what you pay for to a point. I've been shopping around for seats as i'm getting some after christmas. I looked at these and there not great. They weigh alot and arn't very good quality. Its definately worth trying out seats for size aswell. I've sat in pretty much every seat on the market over the past couple of months. You really can tell the difference in the quality just by sitting in them. Better levels of padding and support. Once you get to the really top spec ones they start to get a bit uncomfortable again but I suppose they are more for safety than support. I'd really avoid these ones though. danpug 1 Posted December 18, 2007 For value for money i think corbeau forza sports are hard to beat, still alot more cash than these ones though.
damien 22 1 Cars Posted December 18, 2007 i had sidewinders in my 205 at one point and they where great, they only cost me £100 of the bay. if i was getting another set of after market seats it would be them again

Mandic 0 Posted December 18, 2007 Anyone have Cobra Evolution?
Dan Ingram 1 Posted December 18, 2007 My friend has cobra evolutions in his skoda. They are very supportive, only problem is there the standard size which unless your built like a twig there a bit tight.
Mandic 0 Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) I believe there is also GT version, which is a tad wider What about comfort? EDIT: hodgy, those are Sprco Ultra, right? Cheers Ziga Edited December 18, 2007 by Mandic
Dan Ingram 1 Posted December 20, 2007 Yes theres a GT version. Ive gone for Imolas in the GT version. I can just squeeze in the standard ones but I think they'd be a bit uncomfortable after a while.
