danpug 1 Posted December 10, 2007 I expect miles on here can sort you out with a rebuild kit.
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted December 11, 2007 If your beam has seized solid you'll be best to either source a refurbished one (possibly through here). Seized usually means beyond refurbishing without a new centre tube & radius arm shafts. You can rebuild yours with genuine Pug bearings & seals etc which will cost you approx £75 plus any radius arm shafts etc you might need which you might be able to source from a scrapyard if they'll let you knock some beams apart to check the condition first or from GSF. I've got all the bits to refurbish a beam here but no 1.9 GTi stub axles & caliper mounting brackets. Graham.

Parts to recon your axle will be dependent on how bad it is when you strip it & also what your local scrapyard charges for any bits you can use from a scrap 205 if you can find one that has a usable beam or centre tube. New parts from Peugeot for the bearings & seals is approx £65-70 but if you need the torsion bar studs add a bit extra on top. It'll be £80 max for all the small parts from peugeot but the radius arm shafts are £40+vat each from GSf. You need to find use of a hydraulic press to get the old ones out & new ones pressed in. A reconditoned beam will depend on where you go for it, www.205parts.com offer a refurbing service but I'mnot sure what they charge now, iirc its £300 but I might be wrong. I charge £250 exchange if your beam is servicable & £300 outright for a reconditioned one but I'd need the stub axles & brake plates from your beam to fit into the radius arms i have downstairs. For a bit extra (cost of me getting them) I can fit the beam with ZX radius arms but I'd still need your rear brake bits. I've attached a pictue with the numbers of the bits you need to order from Peugeot but you don't need everything from that picture & some of the bits aren't on there which you usually need. The torsion bars stud (5153 10), offset washer (5153 12) & torx screw for the offset washer (5153 11). Graham. Graham.
