Avon Zv3 - Any Good Or What ?

Recommended Posts

The 1.9 I just bought has a set of Avon ZV3 tyres.

Are they any good or should I look to changing them when I put her on the road?

I've got ZV1s on mine - crap in thew wet and seem to wear out even when stood still! My neighbour has ZV3s on his focus ( drives like a hooligan) and they have worn VERY quickly

Got a pair on my Mi atm, not as bad as some, but close to rubbish IMO.

Yeah pretty bad and atleast part responsible for a big oversteer moment in the wet when i had them on the back and some dunlops on the front. Best tyres on the back from now on!

One word. Litter. But to be honest you may aswell run them into the ground, it will be fun if nothing else!!

this is really odd as I read last week in a thread here that they weren't this bad at all!

I might end up blowing the budget totally out of the water with some michelins!

Yes

Reason being that I can't afford to tax it as I will be buying new tyres, come to think of it I might as well get some cheap slicks which might help me keep up with the pack.

There again if I leave the cheapos on then I can blame them for my slow progress, the way I drive they might last a season :D

Fun?! That they are!!!

I'd rather they were on the back though if the worst 'uns, i'd rather be able to brake steer and if/when need be, pull it out of the oversteer moments...

Was a similar topic on the 405 forum about ZZ/ZV1's you may be confusing?

Yup - Can't floor it in the wet in mine, front just won't grip-- even the Marshalls were a big improvement :)
