Earthing Points

Recommended Posts

Ethos

Hi guys,

Is there a list anywhere, or could anyone explain how many earthing points there are on the 205 gti?

Thinking I should check them all to make sure that isn't the cause of my stalling issue under hi electronical load!

The only ones you need to check are the one on GearBox and on Inner Wing. These are important, as the rest are for various electrics on the car not connected with the engine, ecu and sensors of engine.

(Another earth point that is not probably anything to do with your fault!!)

Isn't there an earth point near one of the backlights for the fuel pump.

Seem to remember something about this a while ago, think someone recommended using eyed crimp

fittings on the cleaned up stud that the original earth block fitted onto.

A search should fetch this up.

any good motor factors stock earthing straps usually in various lengths. all they are is a length of cable with big ring connectors crimped on the ends.

I haven't actually got one! I've got a pdf which I think covers most of the basic things... might search and see if it says anything about it actually :)
