309PUG 2 1 Cars Posted November 24, 2007 Do you really think it's necessary to fit such hi spec pads on the rear that at the end of the day do little work compared to the fronts. I would say a set of std or mild race is more than sufficient. Chris
oli-pug 6 2 Cars Posted November 24, 2007 ^ ^ what i said! lol i dont think you'll ever get ds3000s up to operating temp on the back of a stripped out 205 spiky
Spiky 37 Posted November 24, 2007 i'll be driving around with the hand brake on, they'll be fine lol...... only kidding m mate has the same setup and says they are great if i feel they no doing well i'll change them
C_W 3 1 Cars Posted November 27, 2007 I wouldn't use DS3000s on the rear either; they are very aggressive pad and require careful modulation to prevent locking. I guess you're using them on the front aswell to match the rear, but even so I would be wary using them on the rear (I've always used standard rear pads and they've been fine). Spiky 37 Posted November 27, 2007 well i have bought them and bought new rear discs, if i dont get on with them, i can always put std or ds2500 on but i just want to have a setup that right and not "well if you did this it would be better" will soon see anyhow
James_R 3 Posted November 28, 2007 Not even the touring cars ran that in the rear calipers. Be good to know how you get one with wear on them. do you have any adjustment in the rear bias? is it s a 1.9 or 1.6 compensator set up? (or other)? I'm currenlty going through rear pads in about 5-6k and the fronts in 4-5k (DS2500 front, Ferrodo prem's rear)
Spiky 37 Posted November 28, 2007 no compensators as it's fully braided lines from MC to calipers, no bias of oy yet, but i fully expect to put one in ASAP my mate has the same setup and it's fine
