Hello Stee,

I would also be interested in any answers to your request.

I have what some people on this forum have described as a pair of horrible "sticking out lights" - as fog lights (or "driving lights" as some members like to describe them), but at least they do have protective grills in front of them, so they don't get cracked by stones every few miles!

Cheers - Roy

I'd like to jump in here, and hijack the thread just a wee smidgen (sorry). This is probably going to go nowhere, but if it starts something interesting, then good. Basically, I was just thinking 'why doesn't someone take a mould of the driving lights and start making covers?'.

We've got loads of great contacts on this forum who specialise in making aftermarket parts specifically for our favourite car. It would be sooooo easy for someone with the right tools, or the right contacts, to produce simple transparent covers to protect the driving lights from stone chips (and possibly help prevent those flimsy surrounds from corroding quite so quickly).

I bet if someone seriously looked in to this, and the price was right (I'd imagine that they wouldn't be very expensive to produce) that you'd get loads of takers from this forum alone.

some protectors moulder out of polycarb would be ace, I've got an original pair on my 405, but one has a hole in it, but I guess if it has a hole in it the glass doesn't!

Are we talking clear protectors or white caps here ?

The Cibié caps can be found on ebay on a regular basis.

It could be driving lights or fogs, by the way. Both came as factory fittment.

clear protectors

what you need is a dealer that still has their 205 accessories catalogue, or access/a contact that can mould protectors from polycarb or similar.
