Guest c2swb Posted November 18, 2007 hi my i.9 gti has devoloped a crack in the manifold which you can only hear under acceleration, because its cast would i need to find someone who is specialised in welding cast steel or can it be cured by just normal welding. ned 0 Posted November 18, 2007 Yes I had mine done by a friend who heated the manifold red hot with gas torch and arc welded it with a hi-nickel rod. It looks a very good job and is still going good after 2 months. You are probably best to find an experienced welder to do it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
