Craigb 2 Posted November 15, 2007 Had a run down to Emerald yesterday to have my ecu remapped. I came away really pleased with results . 2000 2500 3000 3500 4000 4500 5000 5500 6000 6500 7000 7500 67 79 94 110 122 144 158 161 160 154 torque 2000 2500 3000 3500 4000 4500 5000 5500 6000 6500 7000 7500 161 115 117 125 128 128 138 139 130 120 100 I have pdfs of the curves but can't seem to post them . The mid range is now excellent , and also the peak power is further down the rev range , which is handy peak power 161 BHP at 6525 peak torque 141 lbft at 5793 ready to be torn to pieces emerald_161.pdf
Anthony 1,002 Posted November 15, 2007 Looks like quite a good result though with a good spread of torque across the whole rev range
huckleberry 0 Posted November 15, 2007 Sounds like a very good engine. Who needs a 16v when you have a 8v like this!
TT205 42 Posted November 15, 2007 Thats excellent, did you ever get a different exhaust manifold?
Toddy 7 Posted November 15, 2007 Good result, has it got ITB's or plenum chamber?
Anthony 1,002 Posted November 16, 2007 Good result, has it got ITB's or plenum chamber? Judging from the comments on the dyno plot, it's still got a plenum intake on it
brumster 135 1 Cars Posted November 16, 2007 Aye, I'd be chuffed with that from an 8v. Result, I'd say!
Baz 421 Posted November 16, 2007 Blimey, i'd be absolutely over the moon with that, especially if/as it is still on plenum intake etc Any more info on the spec Craig?
Craigb 2 Posted November 16, 2007 Thats excellent, did you ever get a different exhaust manifold? Yes , i fitted the maniflow 4 branch , its really fun to drive now . It goes up hills without having to rev the nads off it

taffycrook 2 Posted November 16, 2007 Great result that. Shows how much a well sorted 8v can make even using a std manifold.
Craigb 2 Posted November 26, 2007 (edited) The newfound torque and power decided to make its presence known at the weekend . Four miles into the first airfield section , the car decided to munch the clutch . Edited November 26, 2007 by Craigb
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted November 27, 2007 Thats really good for a moderately specced 8v, gives me something to hope for with Dave's (TT205) old engine when I get it fitted & mapped on a standard (plastic) plenum runnuing on MM8P next year. Graham.
Jon_Bmw 13 Posted December 2, 2007 Very impressive from a 2valve per cylinder engine. Must be a hoot to drive.
