Peetypug 5 Posted November 14, 2007 the engine autodiagnostic warning light came on on my 306 this morning does anybody know how i can find out whats wrong without having to take it to peugeot? it says in the manual that if it comes on while driving its either faulty operation of the injection, ignition or emmission control system thanks

24seven 104 Posted November 14, 2007 think we've both got the same XU7J4. Mine drives fine apart from the clutch being a bitch, I suspect the flywhel is warped or something, and the ruddy stepper motor is a royal arseache.

Longun 1 Posted November 15, 2007 The ECU should still log what the error was so it could still be checked but I'd go somewhere with a general fault code reader rather than pug as they will charge the earth. I've always found with 306's the most common cause of a temporary error is the lamda sensor.
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted November 15, 2007 I know Gav at the Derv Doctor in Ashbourne has a good Snap on scanner that will tell you all this. My brother hasn't otherwise I would have said go there. You can get tose little Draper diagnostic tools yourself I think and they aren't much. I think possibly cat / lambda too and emissions
