Without cutting the arches 6J, Maybe 6.5 but it will be tight.

You will also find 16's are probably to big and will rub, 15's do if you have passangers or it's lowered.

See my post on your lowering thread as i've mentioned rims there too: clicky!

Just for the record, I've got some 15 x 7" rims for my sprint car that definately fit (a GTI), they needed 5mm spacers for correct offset but no problems with arches despite the car being lowered (but it is a GTI not a CJ). I can't remember the offset offhand, I think they are AEZ's.

They may be for sale soon!

I got 9's to fit mine, depends if you want to use extended arches or not.

i've had 7.5 under gti arches, but i wouldn't like to say for a cj since even 1.9 alloys will scrub on a lowered base model shell without arch mods

i put standard 1.9 alloys with 195/50/15 toyo's on my old XS, then decided to lower it 60mm all round :):P

to say it rubbed scraped and knackered my tyres would be an understatement

i ended up putting 14x6.5's on then slightly flaring the arches

if your keeping it standard height then 15x7 should go on but will catch when you have people in the back :(
