Came to prep my pug for MOT and found that the NS door is stuck closed.

Ive removed the doorcard etc but i cant seem to force the locking level up ( tried WD40 ) ...

Any suggesting as to how i can ge the mechanism to allow the door to open :)

had a similar problem with mine after i had been away for a while, the door would not unlock from inside or out, the following worked for me.

Wind down window remove weather seal (use screw driver or similar to open clips slightly or they will end up lost in door) you should now be able to get to the back of the door handle reasonably easily, can not remember if you need to push or pull but if memory serves me right it released easily from there then loads of wd40 and 10 mins or so of exercising the handle to allow proper movement. (its somthing to do with the door handle mechanism not reseting correctly)

Best of luck

Roddie

Pins in the door handle seize up, and sometimes the return springs completely rust and break. You can take the handle out of the door, leaving the rod connected and te handle swinging free - and free it all off with wd. Theres a 10mm nut holdig the handle inside the door and a torx on the outside when you lift the handle. I don't like removing the weatherseal as they are often brittle now, as are the springs. It's not nice when the seal comes off when the window goes up!

it was the actual handle.. The spring had seized, so it wasnt returning .. Bit of WD40 and all is sorted

Thanks for the tip
