Do/can Radiator End Caps Leak?

Recommended Posts

Anton green

I need to top up the coolant every so often which is an irritant as it should work perfectly in my book, and cant use the driveway outside of my house as it could get stained.. bugger.

My radiator (which hasnt done that many miles at all) has a small leak from the radiator end caps or so it appears. Is the full radiator now scrap or can something be done about it?

Im unfamiliar with how the radiators are set out inside of the end-plastic-caps.. Are the plastic end pieces sealed on using a kind of silicone type sealant, then secured by metal tags bent around them as well? -Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

If it is possible to get an 'as new' finish by doing this I might just go ahead..
