dean 0 Posted October 30, 2007 when fitting a gti6 box into a 205 do you use the 306 diff or 205 diff
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted October 30, 2007 Use the 205 diff unless you have the inner part of the N/S shaft off the 306 then the 306 Diff is stronger, But I;d stick to the 5 speed box, Stronger and you don;t loose any lock which is bad enough on a
dean 0 Posted October 30, 2007 how much is the box worth
Batfink 201 Posted October 30, 2007 Are there not a couple of versions of the gti-6 box? As I fitted mine to my 205 with no leaks or driveshaft problems....
welshpug 1,656 Posted October 30, 2007 only 2, BE3 and BE4, but the diff casing and bellhousing are still marked BE3.
dean 0 Posted October 30, 2007 how do you find the box whats it like to drive with
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted October 31, 2007 The box itself has nice Ratio's and suit's 16v engine's, It's just the lock and if you live in town turning right is a nightmare but you get used to it
dean 0 Posted October 31, 2007 so its worth keeping then
Baz 421 Posted October 31, 2007 Only if you don't do alot of turning right!! Do search mate, been covered lots of times before with lots of people's opinions.
Super Josh 4 Posted October 31, 2007 so its worth keeping then As said, lovely ratios. 1st to 5th are like a 1.6 'Box and 6th is like the 5th from a 1.9 'Box, so great acceleration and a decent gear for cruising with. Just the lock is a bit of a pain, it's okay for normal driving, tight parking spaces a 3 point turns can be a bit comedy Josh
