Mi16 Into 205 Gti Tech Questions !

Im after a couple of answers for our 205 gti/ mi16 conversion ...firstly what accelarator cable is used , as the original 205 one is short , if its the 405 one does anyone have one for sale ????..also what is the best place to put the fuel filter ?? the reason i ask is that i have heard that it is a common problem of mi car fires when its located over or near the exhaust mainfold . ..thanks Les

You should use the 405 cable although I don't have one going spare. They are pretty cheap new from GSF/Pug.

 

I kept the original position of the fuel filter. You will need to get a new banjo fitting (I bought mine from Miles). Using the 205 fitting with the Mi16 fuel pipe probably the reason for most Mi16 converted fires rather than the position itself.

You shouldn't have any probs leaving the fuel filter in the original position. My last 309 mi had the filter right on top of the manifold (i didn't convert it!!), absolute madness.

I just lengthened the factory 205 accelerator cable and left the fuel filter where it is- No clearance issues at all cos it's tucked right up in the corner!
