Fuel Filter Unions, Banjo Bolts

Recommended Posts

Guest gt6jim

Can anyone tell me the size required for a 1991 1.6 GTi, and recommend a supplier?

I assume it's M10, but what pitch etc?

Pug want £17.50 :o:wacko::blink:

Top & bottom banjo's are different sizes.

No idea of the actual thread & the parts cd doesn't mention any sizes.

You might be better to get the fuel filter for something like a 106 GTi as they don't have the banjos, the fuel pipe fits straight onto the fliter unions & clamps using fuel hopse clips. (not jubilee clips)

The filters are cheaper also afaik.

Graham.

Thanks Graham, Good idea actually.

I've done some investigation and...

FWIW, The Top banjo bolt is 12mm and lower 14mm. I've been into Pirtek and gotten a couple I think are suitable.

Top # 899B-12

Lower # 899B-14

I've not tried them yet, but if they are a good fit, I'll confirm if they are soon.

Jim

PS. The two cost me a third of Pu-shed wanted!

are these 106 fuel filters k for mi16 205? alos does it matter if the fuel filter is upside down, as i have mounted in the place where my jack goes, and it fits better with the outlet facing tthe bottom towards the headlight.

cheers

danny

yes that will do the job perfectly. i ditched my banjo filter with a 306gti6 filter, quite similar to the one in your ebay link there. i also have mine mounted near the jack, just make sure its secure and use decent clips.

could you send me a piccy of it andf how u have mounted it. i have mine mount the top of filter facing downwards towards rear of the car, then the output to the fuel rail. this way u dont have a long pipe going to the base of filter. was just wondering cause as its the wrong way round, would it put crap into the injectors?

like this, this is how i have done it.
