matt-k 0 Posted October 28, 2007 I was wondering if i can run my engine without cam covers. I chucked my outer cover as it was broken. Ive seen other engines without one but wondered if the belt was in any danger of slipping off the top pulleys? I also think it would make belt inspection and change alot easier. Any views on that apprieciated. Cheers, Matt.
Baz 421 Posted October 28, 2007 You can of course yes, but obviously safer to run with them, i'd at least want the lower cover on. Just make sure there's nothing near that'd get chewed up!
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted October 28, 2007 The greater danger is getting stones off the road caught in the belt, then its game over.
