davemar 16 Posted October 26, 2007 When I reverse briskly in the car (205 1.1 carb TU with MA box) it looses drive when going too fast. Not really sure what speed it is, as I'm looking backwards! Is this a design of the gearbox, or some fault? The gearbox seems fine when driving forward in all gears and the car zips along nicely.
richsmells 2 Posted October 26, 2007 Are you reaching the rev limiter by any chance?
Jrod 7 Posted October 26, 2007 Is it just jumping out of gear? Reverse isn't really a gear designed to go fast is it...

Casanova 0 Posted October 26, 2007 I have had a problem with jumping out of reverse under heavy acceleration on all the 205s I've had (MA box). I do grass autotests on bumpy fields which always involve some reversing. My Junior was terrible, but my XS isn't as bad - I just have to hold it in during the run up to J-turns §
