DamirGTI 344 Posted October 25, 2007 Hi ! Anyone been buying new OE exp. bottle cap recently ? (for the white exp. bottle 1.9 8v ..) The old one is metal cap - this one is plastic .. so is this 205 GTi cap or for some other pug like 106 or 206 ?! pics : Thanks ! Damir
Super Josh 4 Posted October 25, 2007 They've supplied that type for a few years now, one cap seems to fit all models. I used one for a few years, but it irritated me that it looked non OE, so I bought a 3rd party one from a motor factors. Josh
DamirGTI 344 Posted October 25, 2007 Hi ! Ok. so this one will do the trick ? it fits on the exp. bottle but i wasn't sure if it's safe to use it because of the different design (top and bottom..) ... However it's 1Bar (14psi) cap same as old metal one ... Cheers ! Damir
Super Josh 4 Posted October 25, 2007 Yeah, it will work fine Josh

craig f90 0 Posted October 25, 2007 Hi, ive had the exact same cap on mine for 3 years with no issues. When i picked it up from the dealer i thought, what the? to. But it fits, a little tight to get on and off but it doesn't leak. So im happy.

KRISKARRERA 2 1 Cars Posted October 25, 2007 Hmm trouble is I like my metal one because I can polish it!
DamirGTI 344 Posted October 25, 2007 (edited) Well myself also prefer the metal one but the metal one which I've had is knacked and caused my engine blow up - one cylinder liner was cracked because of overheating/internal coolant boiling as because this pressure cap wasn't holding the system pressurized – was leaking So , i really don't want to strip the engine two times in one month , i will fit this plastic new look cap and make my engine bay a little bit stylish (never mind as long as it works ...) cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted October 25, 2007 i don't like the plastic one as i can never get it screwed on right .
DamirGTI 344 Posted October 25, 2007 True I've notice this .. must be made in China product for the "Automobiles Peugeot" , as today the good amount of things which where made out of plastic comes from the rice country (first I've had to cut one lip from the cap locking surface out because it was hitting the little exit/breather pipe which is on the corner of the exp. bottle .. i couldn't screw the cap inside completely until i haven't remove this lip ..)
