What's The Best Way To Cut Braided Fuel Hose To Length?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking of putting tape around the bit where I want to cut and just going through it with a hacksaw or dremmel and cutting disc? Is this OK or is there a proper way of doing it?

At Merlins we used a sort of bench saw with a smooth circular blade on it i.e. no teeth, I wouldnt use a hacksaw as it will end up looking s*it, all frayed. I would use a dremel with a smooth blade and as you said put some tape around it. Oh and keep it steady when you cut it

Tape and a hacksaw are fine - just cut through the tape to prevent fraying

Cheers chaps ;)

I've got rubber end covers anyway so not too much of an issue if it frays slightly.

tape and a hacksaw is fine, its worth holding the hose in a vice too (with something to protect it from the jaws).

a waffer thin cutting disc in an angle grinder ;) no seriously! a 1mm cutting disc flies through and hardly disturbs the braiding at all B)
