Crappy Low Revs Acceleration

Recommended Posts

lee-bg

Car is Mi16 1,9i 16V 147 bhp DFW engine with catalyst type (removed of course) and lambda sensor.

I started expriencing crappy low REVs acceleration,

i.e. when i accellerate on hot (i dont want to test on cold car)

car from 1500 do 3500 revs its not as it was before.

Now its like something is pulling the car back, like i am towing a caravan :P))

Strange, above 3500 revs car just pulls as before. Also i noticed fuel consumption went high when this happened.

Could a faulty TPS be the problem ? As i've changed almost any other part (beside TPS and knock sensor)

in the car and i cannot assume whats wrong. I tried different spark plus, cables and afm, no luck. engine is perfect shape (or was before 4000 km when we assembled it).

Still same trouble at low revs no matter what i try :o

any help appreciated.

That was replaced with new original part when we assembled the engine in the summer, but i will do a test on the sensor anyway. Thanks for advice.

I have similar low revs poor performance on my original 1.9 8v GTi engine.

I think i may have found the problem.

Today i replace my brake servo pipe which takes vacuum from inlet manifold. the pipe was sliced and air was leaking in/out. So far car runs very smooth , i will test it few more days and write 100% to be sure.

hope that helps to other people with simillar problem.

Leaking vacuum pipes? Cool, I'll check them. Thanks.
