Leaky Doors

My car has recently been filling up with rain water via the doors. I have only just noticed this as it now has no carpet and was not parked in the garage for once!

When putting a hose pipe to the front windows I can see ALOT of water going into the door past the 18 year old window seals. The door drains are unblocked and seem to drain fine. When the door is shut it seems the drains can not get rid of the water quick enough through the small gap between door and body, the water begins to overflow over the lower door seal and into the footwells.

Any recomendations for a fix? new window seals - whats involved? expensive to pay someone? is it likely to be this or is water getting inside the doors normal?

Modify door drains?

Cheers.

Henry.

buy new door seals. But also take off the door cards, get some butile tape and some polythene. Go round the edge of the of the inner door with the butile tape. then put the polythene over the tape and cut any excess off and there you go, you got your very own shower curtain for your doors!!!!! lol

Hope it helps because thats what we do in our place :)

Are you sure the water isn't coming in from behind the door card? Mine does that, and the above technique would cure it. Almost all cars are done that way now, but our ageing Pugs rely on the plastic-backed door cards sealing against the inner skin. Not an ideal situation really.

I've had to do that to every 205 i've owned and it works every time. Tape around each cut out in the inner door

to get best results

I'm hoping this is why means leaking too, of all the leak threads I've decided this sounds most like what I'm experiencing... fingers crossed!
