Drive Shaft Pins!, Help Iv Lost Them!

Recommended Posts

Headling

Hi guys, just getting my engine bay ready for the 2.0 8v turbo engine and have lost the drive shaft pins whilst i was pushing it around fitting the cage!

To explain they are the little silver roll pins that fit inside the drive shaft and they have a silver sleve that slide over the top then this fits inside the drive cup on the gear box. I hope you get what i mean!!

oh yeay they are 1.9 drive shafts.

Does any one know where to get these pins? i need enough for 1 x drive shaft. If you have any PM me.

cheers in advance!

i have some spare if you need them, they came from a good set of 1.9 shafts so should bo ok to use, unless they need to be matched to the shaft?!

Get down the scrappy and split a shaft - remove the whole tripod bearing (circlip at end of shaft on most) saves a lot of fiddling around. IIRC there are 99 needle rollers, 33 per bearing. (guess who's re-assembled a few)

I know for definate that Gti-6 shafts use the same needle rollers as 1.9 205's, so if GTi-6's use the same shafts as other 306's you can use them no problem.
