rallyman 0 Posted October 17, 2007 OK I'm fitting a cut out switch to my 205, have people got picture of where they've fitted theirs that they could post ?? Im looking to keep mine in the engine bay, anyone tried this? Cheers Michael
welshpug 1,657 Posted October 17, 2007 on 205's they're usually fitted in the scuttle panel just above the bonnet.
pip470 61 Posted October 17, 2007 Why would you want it in the engine bay, the idea is that in the event of a crash you can cut all electrical power. If its under the bonnet its not much good. Kind of defeats the object. I put mine in the in arms reach away. http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...30&start=

welshpug 1,657 Posted October 17, 2007 not to hand sorry, if its going inside then in the cabin on the lower dash in place of the stereo is where i';ve seen most, in reach of the driver, with a cable to the outside location as mentioned before.

large 33 Posted October 18, 2007 I have mine fited to the bottom of the dash, I just have to run the pull cable. As per welsh pugs reply. The only thin i will add is that she is a little slower turning over now but it goes every time

rallyman 0 Posted October 18, 2007 Nice install Craigb!!!! I was thinking of doing the center dash fixing though I was worried about the problem that large was having which is a big voltage drop that you get when you add lots of wire between the battery and starter motor! Kieran - I may call you over the weekend to have a lookey! Thanx v.much! I am looking to put the cutout switch in the engine bay and run 2 pull cables to operate it. I will have to see what magic Chris and I can cunjur up with it! Got to get the new passenger seat sorted for the end of the month another event! Craigb 2 Posted October 19, 2007 Nice install Craigb!!!! I was thinking of doing the center dash fixing though I was worried about the problem that large was having which is a big voltage drop that you get when you add lots of wire between the battery and starter motor! that's cured with the correct rating of cable .. Putting the cut off in the engine bay has one issue , that is every time you want to start the car , you have to open the bonnet ! i assume that would get quite tedious...
