Dizzy Problems

Recommended Posts

i changed the dizzy on my 1.6 yesterday, over to a spare one i had out of boredom as it was a different code and i was curious, and went on to set it up and ran the car round block to set the advance. after a few starts and stops i thought i had it sorted, but it then started to misfire slightly. i revved it up my road and it spat a flame and died. when i started it again it was running on1 or two cylinders tops. i changed the dizzy back across and it started up once fine. today however it is no go again. there is voltage at the coil and the engine is turning over healthily but it wont start at all. i have chekc and cleaned all lead connections and inside the cap etc. but i cant get a start at all

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

the small 2 pin connector that comes out the side of the dizzy sends the signal to the ignition amp . i'de be checking the continuity/integrity of that as well as the obvious coil lead, ignition leads, rotor arm etc.
