dicko73 0 Posted October 30, 2007 i've had a similar problem, with the same symptoms for ages, and no amount of kicking in asda car park would make it work. only seemed to do it when engine was hot though, but thanks to this forum i've wired the starter solenoid straight up to the orange starter wire on the barrel and hey presto!, the problem seems to have gone. relief. pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted November 1, 2007 Unlucky but an easy fix. Just get a newer starter with the stud & nut for the solenoid wire & crfimp a ring terminal in the spade connectors palce, much easier & avoids a reoccurance. Graham.
Batfink 201 Posted November 1, 2007 I think half our cars would be completely different if we rewired all of them!

Graham. problem with mine was that the spade was still on the connector but the lead had broken off, i just solderd the lead straght onto the terminal which will stop it happening again but not too great if i need to replace the starter
