suth82 0 Posted October 12, 2007 Hello, After stripping down my Mi16 cylinder head i have just taken it down to my local engine rebuilders for a "skim", they guy pointed out that the head has been skimmed before. Will i now have to use a thicker head gasket now that its being skimmed for the second time? if so, where can i get one? Paul
Pugnut 9 1 Cars Posted October 12, 2007 Paul , peugeot lists 2 gaskets for the xu9j4: 0209 L3 CYL HEAD GASKET REPAR EP 1,50 WITHOUT ASBESTOS - A005 and: 0209 N2 REPAR(+0,2) WITHOUT ASBESTOS - A005 so 1.5mm or 1.7mm hope this helps cheers, AL

mattmk1 0 Posted October 14, 2007 Cheers Al, What would be the outcome if i just used a standard thickness gasket? Paul It depends entirely how far your head has now been skimmed, if its only been very lightly skimmed then you should be o.k. Each head has a limit to how much can be skimmed off, so the machine shop would be the best people to talk too. Did they tell you how far it was warped or how much theyve skimmed off??
