Car Spluttering

hello, just wondered if any one could help? my car is loosing power then it has it back again and is spluttery when doing this. But then runs fine other times ?

help much appreciated..

you really need to give more detail. ie is it high or low revs etc etc .also give details of what parts you know are reasonably new ie fuel filter , ignition amp , air flow meter .

sorry, will try and be more descriptive this time well it's at low revs. recently my rotor arm in the distributor cap went, but has now been replaced. however it still did this after it was replaced. The revs did pick up but only when you floor it.

firstly check all the plug leads are on and tight. this is exactly what happened to m a while ago

hello sorry to re post. my car is still cutting out and loosing all power. I checked that the leads were all tight the second spark plug looked a little dirty. Is it worth replacing the leads and plugs ? as the problem is still occuring every so often.

If you do a search it should bring up a recent topic about my igntion cutting out and dying.

 

It was the ignition amp on mine.

cheers nick sounds very similar i drove to work this morning fine which is 20 miles. Popped out in it at lunch and cut out several times then was fine again. will have to invest in a new amp. thanks again

was just wondering is the ignition amp mounted on the suspension pillar in the left of the engine bay ?
