fore_heed 0 Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) Does anyone know the pin on the engine block the starter uses? My car wont start, its the XU9JA engine. I'm not sure whether its the pin to the right of the alternator or not. Going to take the wire off the pin an connect another wire to the pin and the other end of that wire i'll touch to live. I've had it before and after a run it starts fine, just i've negleted it a little too long! Just cant remember what pin an dont want to be blowing anything up!! . any help much appreciated! Cheers (oh yea, i've tried jump starting it but won't work. And when i try bump starting it, it kind of wants to start but just doesn't. it popped once an then the other attempts it sounds like it dies. plus im at the bottom of 2 hills which isn't ideal lol) Edited October 10, 2007 by fore_heed
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted October 10, 2007 You need to find the connector to the solenoid under the inlet manifold, should be an obvious one as its the only pin connector on the starter / solenoid. Highlighted in the picrture below on an Mi but its in the same place on an 8v just hidden with the inlet manifold on. Graham.
