Gavtrials 0 Posted October 9, 2007 Hello there, i have a problem with the ignition on my friends mi16 1.9 alloy block engine! Long story short i replaced the engine for my friend but now have an ignition fault! the Plug got damaged to the coil so i put 4 crimp terminals on the cables insteid of the plug that go's on the the coil, If i understand correctly 2 of the cables should be 12v? and the other 2 should be 0v? I am only gettin 12v from one of the cables so if both are suppose to 12v then any ideas why i am only getting 12v from one? If anybody no's how this works and what i should be getting off each cable and the order then it would be much appreciated. thanks. gav.
Guest Mad4tar Posted October 10, 2007 Hi Gav, I've only just fixed an ignition fault on my Mi16 and I can tell you that the thick yellow wire going to the coil is the only +12v when the ignition is on. I take it that your not getting a spark........ check for fuel. If you are not getting that either then it's not your coil that the problem. This should help too - ignore that it's a BX, Mi16 is the same http://www.bx16valve.co.uk/Files/Fuel.pdf Will
