Avital Maxx Alarm Arming Problem

Recommended Posts

GLPoomobile

Does anyone have an Avital Maxx cat I alarm? Do you have the instruction manual?

Mine has been unused for weeks as the battery is out of the car. I put it back in last night, checked the batt voltage first as it looses a bit of charge over time, and it was showing 11.6v.

When re-connected, the alarm is activating as soon as I arm it. I thought it was supposed to give a warning tone if a circuit is 'open' when you arm it, but it's not doing that, just triggering a full alarm immediately. I even tried locking it manually and waiting for it to re-arm itself after a minute but still the same.

It was fine before!

The only other thing is that parts of the engine loom are disconnected at the moment, but nothing that I can see that is in anyway related to the alarm.

FYI for anyone not familiar with this alarm, the only sensors are a bonnet switch, possibly a boot switch, door switches and interior ultrasonic sensors.

Tried reconnecting it with all the doors shut, and the bonney switch taped down? Although i'm not too familiar with alarms, i've had a couple where the alarm goes off if the battery is connected with a door/bonnet/boot switch open.
