dicky20014 4 Posted October 6, 2007 car failed mot yesterday on emissions (205 1.9 gti 1987 E reg). The allowed limit was 3.5% and it was 6.92% so nearly double what it should have been. Car has standard exhaust but larger backbox, engine has been rebuilt and tuned by LAD. The mot inspector said he didn't know why it was so high and how i would be able to reduce it, any idea's? possibly because it has been tuned? thanks Richard
Sandy 191 Posted October 6, 2007 It depends entirely on what work has been done and the condition of the inlet/injection system. try checking the ignition timing and then tweaking the mixture on the AFM.

Miles 331 1 Cars Posted October 6, 2007 Take it back to LAD if they have tuned it and you paid to have it done, It should be at least to current guidlines. But if you havn't take it back for the MOT with a Allen Key and adjust the Air Flow Meter to suit, Takes seconds to do.
