Ethos 0 Posted October 3, 2007 Hi guys, Are there any specific spark plugs I should be using? I'm planning on changing them tomorrow, might get them from halfords or mill auto which are both close to me. What should I expect to pay? Thanks.

DamirGTI 342 Posted October 3, 2007 Well it's simple Look at the exhaust pipework just after the mainfold and if you have one you will see him inbetween the exhaust mainfold and middle silencer . You will see also the lambda sensor and it's wiring on the exhaust .. But it's possible that someone before you have remove the CAT , in that case look on the engine block just above the alternator and you will see there little plate - on that plate you will see stamped engine code/numbers 1.9 GTi : DFZ and DKZ - are CAT engines D6B - is Non CAT engine 1.6 GTi : I'm not sure which codes are CAT/Non CAT in the case of 1.6 engine but someone from here will know guys ? Anyway which engine do you have ? 1.9 or 1.6 ? Damir

welshpug 1,657 Posted October 3, 2007 the 1.6 engine never had a cat on it, peugeot couldnt get a decent output from the engine and pass the emissions laws so they ditched the engine in late 92. CAT rules didnt come into force untill August 93 either.
