Indicators Stopped Working ...help!

Recommended Posts

christopher

Today my indicators stopped working. It happened to me a few months ago but when I took the stalk out and reconnected they worked again. So I put it down to a loose connection. This time they don't work. I have found out the following so far....It will get urgent soon because I can't really drive the car without them..

The hazards still work

The relay works fine

If I supply 12v to wires 38 & 37 the indicators light up but there is no flash

If I supply 12 to wire 17 and then select the indicator left or right the indicators will flash left or right but no flash. I hope this means the stalk is working..but I am not sure..

Any ideas anyone. Could it be anything else except the hazard switch or the stalk?

Ok I think I have located the problem. It seems to be the hazard switch after all. If I take it out and push the button to the side quite hard then the indicators work. After I did this a few times in both directions then the indicators still work without bending the switch..

It's rarther strange I mean the button is hardly ever used...

Thanks
