Engine Misfires Between 3000-4000 Rpm

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

the engine (XU9JA) misfires between 3000-4000 rpm sometimes and sometimes runs normally

what should i look for at first? given it happens in certain rpm - may it be the AFM problem?

given the extent of my misfire issue, i changed (well kate did actually  ) the following:

AFM, dizzy, rotar arm, ht leads, spark plugs, ignition coil, ignition amp, fuel rail and injectors :D

other things to check would be earthing as i suspect i have some special wiring :D

Super Josh

I would check the HT components, as Henry mentioned above. I had a problem similar to this once and it turned out to be the ignition amplifier. The thermally conductive paste between the amplifier and heatsink had dried out. You can buy it from a computer shop for your PC's processor.

I had the same problem with my mi16. It struggled to get passed 4000 kept dropping revs, after 4000 it was. turned out to be a bad connection on one of the injector plugs. best thing is that it didnt cost me anything, they're my favourite repairs
