No Oil Pressure Gauge ?

Recommended Posts

damo

Hi, I've been looking into why I have no oild pressure reading in my CTI.

It has a 1.9 gti engine dropped in it from the previous owner. The oild pressure warning light sender is on the engine, but no oild pressure sender ?

I have been told -

the big round thing' shows the pressure reading on the dash?. and the small oil perssure switch just controls the warning light on the dash.

I'm missing the big round thing and the hole loks blocked up in some way.

Do some 1.9 engines not have this ?

What colour wires should go the the warning light ? I have three to choose from -

Grey wire with yellow plug

orange wire with brown plug (Could be brown wire, but looks more like orange)

white wire no plug ? its been cut ?

i hope i have explained things. This also may be why my power roof doesnt work?

i can see where it should screw in.

the hole looks filled in and no screw threads?

its to the right or the smaller one.

If it was missing, would it leak oil? as this area is clean ?

If it has been blocked in such a way that looks like a pain in the arse to remedy, the you can get a T-piece that screws in to the hole for the oil pressure switch, and you can the have both the switch and the sender attached to the t piece in the single hole. Make sense?
