Jrod 7 Posted September 19, 2007 Anyone done this? How hard is the wiring or does it just unplug from the fusebox? (it's a TU engine) Obviously tank and lines have to be changed but that's all easy.
RossD 44 Posted September 20, 2007 If you have the complete loom from the petrol car it shouldnt be that hard a swap. It should simply just replace the diesel loom. (Well at least this is what I can see between my GT and a GTi, I can't see the diesel being any different) The speedo and clutch cables could be different as they mate to a BE box and not an MA. Also little things like the instrument cluster. Other than that, the other differences are all suspension related, but I expect you would be changing that anyway?! Jrod 7 Posted September 21, 2007 Yep would be ditching all of the running gear. Is it hard to change the loom (never really touched any wiring in a car.)
