Jrod 7 Posted September 19, 2007 Right well I'm building a new car at the moment. It's a 1400 so a bit lighter and more basic than the gti. It's for rallying and I'm looking for some advice on some of the ideas I have. I'm planning to use bilstein fixed height suspension (the challenge stuff) with 160lb standard height springs. Is it worth using 309 wishbones for negative camber? will this benefit on anything bar tarmac, There will be some tarmac use but plenty of gravel, broken concrete, stubble fields etc. Also not really sure what to run on the back TB/ARB wise. Is it worth just running some 19mm GTI Tb's or get some 21's? Same question really for the ARB, I could just use a GTI one (which is thicker than the standard 1400) or should I look at something a bit more chunky? Rippthrough 98 Posted September 19, 2007 I wouldn't go any chunkier on ARB's, in fact, you want to be stepping up the springing and dropping the arb sizes if anything, you want it at the stage where you are only using them for flat gravel and tarmac stages. Jrod 7 Posted September 19, 2007 So do you think I should use an XS ARB (18mm?) and thicker tb's?
RossD 44 Posted September 19, 2007 (edited) Sorry, I wrote a reply about the front suspension and then realised you were talking about the rear.... Edited September 19, 2007 by RossD
