I just googled Bosch 0237009617 & got a few results, one of which included the folowing text;

hello,

I mounted a lighter coming from one 405 (I do not know its type) on a BX 16 engine XUB2C.

The lighter coming from the 405 is Bosch 0237009614.

For my Bx, citroen recommends the 0237009617.

I note a tendency to rattling, even by decreasing the advance. It is true that I use SP95.

If somebody can to me scanner the curves in advance of lighter 0237009614, I could compare with the curves of which I lay out for the BX.

In the absence of these curves, can be will be able to say itself to me if the two lighters are sufficiently close to be used one for the other.

Thank you for your opinions

That came from here but there were no replies.

Graham.

Hi !

Thanks Graham ! :)

Strange dizzy :) when i've had standard D6B dizzy ( Bosch last numb. 066 ) fitted to my modified engine 11.1 CR .. ) i have to retard the timing (was pinking on so high CR of course ...) almost to the end position of how much it can be retarded (i've left with 1-2mm to the end point with that standard 066 dizzy..)

However when was fitting this 617 dizzy i've advance it way above the middle point and it still does not pink ?! i don't understand this ?!?!? strange ...

pic ( position of this 617 dizzy ) :

(i repeat this is modified high CR engine around 11.1 , ported head etc. , and one more strange thing it goes better now than before with 066 dizzy on retarded position .. ;) )

advance springs inside the 066 dizzy :

tick spring (short)

(i've notice that this ticker spring inside 066 dizzy haves way too much move/slack it has no tension at all ..)

thin spring (long)

(this one haves tension no move no slack..)

advance springs inside the 617 dizzy :

tick spring (short) - well it's not so tick as the one inside the 066 dizzy and this one haves very little move/slack it's tense .

http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...ifederic1-2.jpg

thin spring (long) - similar thickness as short spring above and also it haves tension no move/slack .

http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...ifederic1-1.jpg

Me thinks that this dizzy is from some Citroen Bx 171 engine but from which one ?! theres a few types of 1.6 171 engines .. :)
