kevp's 205gti 0 Posted September 13, 2007 will a gti-6 from a xsara fit on the same mounts in my 205gti?
kevp's 205gti 0 Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) yes. thanks mate, does it require the uprated mount like the mi-16? I mean im told the mi-16 requires an up rated mount to stop the engine catching the master cylinder. its from a xsara vts so its got the 5speed box in with the intake and exhaust manifolds(including down pipe) plus ancillaries so apart from having to use my drive shafts would I be right in saying it will go in with out needing to modify engine mounts i.e. welding new ones Edited September 14, 2007 by kevp's 205gti
jackherer 543 Posted September 14, 2007 thanks mate, does it require the uprated mount like the mi-16? Yes, the master cyl is extremely close to the cam cover with a gti6 so its probably even more vital.
danpug 1 Posted September 14, 2007 Just make sure you keep hold of the xsara top mount.
28CRAIG 2 Posted September 14, 2007 It seams your not really sure whats involved with the conversion try a search on the conversion to get a better understanding of what mods are needed what parts to use and wiring ect. it will help you out and make the job a lot easier. http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...gti6+conversion http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...gti6+conversion http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...252&hl=gti6
Alastairh 47 Posted September 14, 2007 As Craig said, look through the forum and do your homework. Then get out they're and just do trial and error making it fit, its the only way you'll learn. Think i had the engine in and out 3 times in my GTI6 205 for trial and error, got it to a fine art though Al
