Driver Side Engine Mount Billet One

Recommended Posts

Spiky

ok, i'm thinking of replacing the engine mount that screws into the driver side wing, with a solid peice of billet alu.

now i currently have a BBM one and there is no way it can move as it is as i made sure it cant,

and i want to lower the engine a bit, so thinking this is one of my options,

anyone forsee any issues? apart from noise? as it's a track car, a touch more noise wont hurt...lol

doing this will mean putting the brake serve back at it's correct angle and having the engine at the correct angle

thus all this to help my drive shafts be in the normal angle and not the dodgy one they currently are at ;)

I'd solidly mount the whole engine if the car is purely for track use...

ok, from that reply, i guess there's no probs if i did do it then,

as i then get full contro, of height and angle

just need to find some billet alloy now ;):P

Let us know how you get on with this Spiky as I am interested in this option for mine.

I wonder if BBM would be able to make a conventional type uprated one, I am sure there would be a fair bit of interest as this would help other conversions not just gti6

i "may" still go this route, once i find some materials

but i have just bought a activa tuebo engine mount and this will enable me to drop my engine as planned, so the billet may not be needed

will update everyone on the route i go
