Mikey S 29 1 Cars Posted September 6, 2007 hi i was just wondering i have a s16 lump that was originally in my old 205 shell but that was rather rusty so i bought Dixon's old shell and was going to drop it in that, the slight problem that i have is that the s16 had a PAS pump that ran on the alternator belt but i have since removed that i was wondering were can i get a shorter belt from would the 1.9 mi16 non-PAS belt fit? hope you can help thanks what i tend to do is get a piece of string, wrap it around the pulleys unitl its tight then measure it. add about 20 mm for adjustment purposes and that will give you an accurate idea of how long the belt should be. part numbers for belts are quite easy to decifer. for example, 6pk1175. the 6 means thats its a 6 ridge belt. the 1175 means the length in mm. if your pulleys are 4 ridge and the belt length is, for example, 1265. just ask for an 4pk1265. hth mike
Super Josh 4 Posted September 6, 2007 Dan, once you've worked out the length, and decent motor factors should be able to give you a belt of that length, or the next nearest size. Josh
