Guest bruce wayne Posted September 3, 2007 Hi all. Just got back from a 70 miles round trip yesterday and car had been running well, when suddenly the rev counter started to blip up and down a few hundred revs, for no apparent reason. Don't know whether its coincidence but I had just driven over a really bad bumpy strectch of road. Any ideas? Experienced something similiar when I let the petrol tank get really empty and the revs started to drop to zero then shoot back up again, which wasn't very pleasant. Any ideas? jackherer 543 Posted September 3, 2007 Is it just the rev counter blipping or are the revs actually changing?
Guest bruce wayne Posted September 3, 2007 I think the revs are actually changing, not just the rev counter. Yes, had considered the fuel pump. Will investigate that.
jackherer 543 Posted September 3, 2007 Its worth checking all the pipes on the inlet and breathers plus the oil filling pipe for splits.
leitoo 0 Posted September 9, 2007 If it hapenned with the engine hot I'd check the ignition module and its insolation... Sometimes when they get hot it causes that efect...
