205toby 0 Posted September 2, 2007 Hi guys, As the topic states, I'd like to know the size and thread type found on the rear compensators of my 1991 205 Gti. I'd like to remove them because I still have serious problems with my front 307 brakes locking up. To do this I was planning to insert a straight piece of brake hose with thread on both ends and this makes them removable if I want. Only problem is I don't know what type of thread to get on the end of the pipe. Am I on the right track or is there a simpler method of doing this? Cheers, Toby
205toby 0 Posted September 6, 2007 Anyone? How do you normally remove the rear compensatiors on 1.9's? Toby
ORB 227 1 Cars Posted September 6, 2007 I did it to a mates car using a length of brake pipe and 4 connectors (2 male and 2 female) Easy peasy
Ryan 99 Posted September 6, 2007 The 1.9 compensators are 10x1mm at one end and 12x1mm at the other.
