matt-k 0 Posted August 28, 2007 Im in the prosess of getting the last bits for my Mi16 engine together & want to know what coil i need to use. I have a 1.6 engine with the small coil on the inlet manifold, will this do or should i buy a new one and if so which one would you recomend. Also do i need 1.9 amplifier or will the 1.6 one do the job. I Thank You,
boldy205 75 Posted August 29, 2007 i have used the std coil (although mine is a 1.9 coil) on my MI16/Weber set up. Are you getting yours rolling roaded soon? If so it would be nice to see what ignition advance you run with it. As mine is on full advance (running 1.9 ignition and 45s.) Matt.
jackherer 543 Posted August 29, 2007 That coil will plug straight in and be fine although it wont fit onto the mounts on the mi16 inlet manifold. Even the older style round 8v coil works fine with an mi16, it just needs different size spade connectors and the 8v main ht lead.
